My first encounter with classical music happened long ago, quite by accident.Liszt came from a VHS tape of Tom and Jerry cartoons. Scriabin was played in a school music lesson. And Chopin turned up on a compilation of vaguely classical music, somewhere between Morricone and Clayderman.Chopin is still one of my favourite composers.
These romantic ideas kept leading me astray for quite a while.
Funny as it sounds, melodies from old Sega and nes games had a big influence on my taste in music.
